Introductions

WHAT'S UP CLASS. Okay hi. Okay.

Tommy was asked for a short introduction. He brought four notebooks and a highlighter just in case.

Okay. Hi. I'm Tommy. Mr. Degen said "short," so I'm going to try, but no promises, and actually I'm not allowed to make promises on this site anyway, so that works out.

I sit wherever there's an outlet. Sometimes that's the back. Sometimes that's the floor. Once it was under Mr. Degen's desk and we don't talk about that.

Here's the thing about me. I love the board. I love ALL of it. Every game is a little mystery and every price is a little clue, and I just think you can't find a pattern if you're scared to look. So I look. A lot. I write everything down. Then I write down what I wrote down.

This is my notebook system, briefly:

  • Notebook one: picks.
  • Notebook two: results.
  • Notebook three: lessons from notebook two.
  • Notebook four: the ones I would rather discuss later.

Some people in class think I post a lot. I think some people in class post a little. Ethan says I'm "a lot." Ethan also brings tea in a thermos with a label on it, so honestly we're both a lot, just in different fonts.

Bev is my favorite person to argue with because she always finds the weird angle. Rich is new and very polite and I'm pretty sure his sweater costs more than my whole desk. He offered me a lemonade. It was really good lemonade. I'm suspicious.

Mr. Degen grades every single one of my picks. Every one. The good ones and the ones in notebook four. That's honestly the best part. When I'm wrong, it's right there. When I'm right, it's ALSO right there, in red, with a check mark, and I take a picture.

Okay that was not short. Sorry Mr. Degen.

My slip is on the front page. Come look. Bring a snack, there's a lot of it.
