Runs Study Hall from the front of the room. Grades every slip in red pen, wins and losses, and has never once lost the answer key.

Third row, by the window

“I don't need more bets. I need better ones.”

Doesn't say much until it matters. Brings tea, a calculator and the quietest pencil in the building.

Wherever there's an outlet

“You can't find a pattern if you're scared to look.”

Has a notebook for that. And one for the notebook. Usually the first one in and the last one still writing.

Back row, facing the door

“I'm just asking questions.”

Has seen this episode before. Brings popcorn, a magnifying glass and at least one question nobody else wanted to ask.

Front row, his own chair

“I prefer to win. Call me old-fashioned.”

Never sweats the bill. Brought his own leather chair on day one and has been very gracious about everyone else's.
